My First Birthday Party

What I day I had today!!! My mommy & daddy and my grandma Phyllis and grandpa Phil & grandma Sandy threw me the best first birthday party ever!!! My babysitter Shaunesse came over for a little bit and Miss Miki, Mr. Keith & their daughter Sami came over too. I got a ton of presents already from all of my mom's cousins on Thanksgiving, but then I received a ton more today. Opening presents with the help of my daddy was a lot of fun. But honestly, the best part of my first birthday party was eating the wonderful Winnie-the-Pooh cake that my grandma Phyllis made me and brought with her all the way from Blacksburg, VA. I really enjoyed the cake and the horrified look on my mommy's face seeing how messy I was getting. I managed to get cake in my hair, my nose, and my ears as well. I had lots of fun. Before the party, which by the way, was a complete surprise, my mommy and my grandparents took me outside for a little bit and I played in the piles of leaves. That was fun too. The only people missing from this day were my grandparents and aunts, uncles, and cousins from Israel. But I heard my mommy ask my daddy to make DVDs to send to them so that they could at least see how much fun we had.

Now, I can't post all the pictures from today here. It was very difficult for me to choose which ones to post. So if you want to see the rest, click on the "Our Photos" link to the right.

I Can Say A New Word Now

Yesterday I made my mommy so happy and proud. I said the word "Tzi-Tzi" which is Hebrew for boob. In fact, she was so excited she called grandma Ruthie in Israel right away to tell her. I have repeated it several times since then so that my mommy knows that I truly know what the word means.

I also figured out how to kiss my mommy back yesterday. Even since I was born she's been doing this funny looking thing of perching her lips and bringing them to my lips. For the longest time I couldn't figure out why she was doing that. And then yesterday, she kept saying: "give mommy a kiss" and doing that thing with her lips over and over again. So I just wanted her to be quiet already and leave me alone, so I did the same thing she was doing and brought my lips to hers and gave her a big smooch. And then I saw how incredibly happy that made her so I've repeated it every time she wanted me to ever since.

My daddy thinks it's weird that my mommy kisses me on the mouth, but it's because he doesn't understand that that's what everyone does in Israel.

My First Birthday Cake

Today my babysitter Jenny brought over a yummy cake and balloons for my birthday. She wasn't able to come over on my actual birthday so she made it up to me by getting me all that stuff and also two presents. I am so excited. So my mommy agreed to let me have some cake and I just loved it. It all got really messy and then my mommy and Jenny really annoyed me when they insisted on cleaning me up real well, but all in all I had lots of fun. Here are some pictures and for the rest you can click on the link to the right

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi everyone, I just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Turkey Day. I was such a good boy last night. I slept all through the night for a change and my mommy & daddy got some much needed rest. We are still all a little bit sick, but I think we're starting to feel better. Later we'll be going to my grandma Ruthie's cousin in Richmond's South side for dinner. There we will see lots of relatives that I haven't seen since I was just 5 months old. And some of them I will be meeting for the first time. I'm really excited. My mommy is a little nervous because she plans on giving me my dinner there and I have been known to be quite a messy eater. But I will do my best today and I think it will work out just fine. I will also post some pictures for you all to see later. That is if my mommy remembers to take the camera with her, which she often forgets.

Look at Me Then and Look at Me Now

Just for comparison purposes... this is me at three weeks & two days old, and this is me today. I have grown quite a bit, don't you think?

I'm A Big Boy Now!!!

Today is my birthday. My 1st birthday. I am such a big kid. I was so excited last night that I couldn't sleep much so I kept my sick mommy and daddy up. But that's ok. They love me so much that they really don't mind not getting any sleep. And this morning they wished me a happy first birthday and gave me lots of kisses and hugs. My daddy stayed to work from home today because he is not feeling well, and of course, he couldn't stand to be away from me on my first birthday. And mommy went to the grocery store and then she did a lot of cooking so that we all have yummy food to eat. My babysitter was here today too so that she could help my mommy a bit. She took me outside to run around. It is a really warm day today so it was lots of fun to be outside. And then my neighbors AnnMarie and her daughter Niki came over to wish me a happy birthday and they even brought me a birthday gift. But mommy said that I don't get to open it until my party which will be on Saturday. You see, my grandma Phyllis and grandpa Phil & grandma Sandy will be here to celebrate my birthday with me. I'm still not sure what the plan is for the rest of the day. Right now I'm actually going to take my afternoon nap. My mommy and daddy are so proud of me and still can't believe they are parents, let alone parents of a 1 year old boy. And I am pretty proud of myself. Just a few days ago I learned how to walk up the steps. For a while now I've been crawling/climbing up the steps. But now, when an adult holds my hands, I can actually walk up the steps, foot after foot. So of course I no longer want to crawl/climb up the steps. I mean, I'm a big boy now.

Oh, and I guess I would also like to share some pictures from this wonderful day... and don't forget to check out the rest of the pictures (click on the Our Photos link to the right and go to album 13)

A Cold Day Outside

Today was a pretty cold day but we got Liam outside for a little while nonetheless after we got him all bundled up. On the plus side, he didn't seem to mind the cold. And then there is the priceless picture of Liam making a mess of his meal...

Forgot Something

Liam now points to the closest light source when asked: "where is the light?" He gets it almost 100% of the time when it's done in Hebrew, and about 80% of the time when done in English. Just wanted to share the proud moment.

Grandpa's Gabi's Visit

Grandpa Gabi came to visit us this past Friday and stayed till earlier this evening. He was amazed to see all the changes since his last visit with Liam. He had lots of fun taking him outside and letting him run around. He enjoyed giving him his meals, in spite of Liam rubbing food all over him. He took lots of pictures and videos (and of course he forgot his camera cord so we don't have any of his pictures or videos to share). Thanks to him spending a lot of time with Liam Scott was able to put a dent into cleaning up his office (we're trying to combine offices so that we can make Liam a little play room as it seems that before long he will be able to climb out of his play yard). And I got to catch up on some sleep that I seriously lacked due to Scott being away last week and Liam refusing to sleep. So that was our weekend. Here are some pictures of Liam with Grandpa.
